COWGATEHEAD [VENUE 32], SPACE 5, 10PM

'Highly entertaining' (What's On London)

'Killer punchlines, not to be missed' (LBC Radio)

Sunna Jarman’s Family Tree (Directed by Colin Hoult - Derek, Life is Short), is a fresh and funny look at the fall from grace that surely follows a mixed marriage...!

A regular at London’s 99 club, Talksport, LBC Radio (and one third of 2014's AAA early show at the Pleasance), Sunna Jarman delves into the future of the British class system with all the experience of having fallen from top to bottom.

A smart girl from the fringes of the international polo set she makes an horrific mistake by marrying a Northerner whose only financial asset is a collection of skateboards. The family disappointment is palpable. The class divide cavernous.

Marrying so far below her, she carries the shame like a sweaty monkey clinging to her back. She struggles to make sense of the world she now inhabits – ASDA, public transport, bread and butter with tea. Is this it..?

Then in a hushed family meeting in Nana’s front room, Uncle Alan unveils the Northerners’ family tree....and with it the noxious gas of snobbery, social superiority and unrequited betterment are exposed in all their glory.

Made destitute by inheritance tax and a wholly misguided sense of entitlement, can the new ‘under upper-class’ survive on a single pair of red trousers and a scratched cygnet ring? Can a boy from the backstreets of Warrington ever really determine the correct grammatical use of ‘less’ and ‘fewer’. It’s a world gone mad! And it’s funny!
