Larry Dean Wins

Larry Dean wins
Bath Comedy Festival’s New Act Competition 2013

Fast rising comedian Larry Dean, won Bath Comedy Festival’s New Act Competition on Saturday. Originally from Glasgow, Larry has been likened by The Evening Standard’s Bruce Dessau to fellow Glaswegians Billy Connolly and Kevin Bridges for his natural storytelling, and also commended for his cleverly structured material with an excellent payoff. No mean feat for a comedian aged only 23.

“Larry is a very exciting new comedian” says Delphine Manley who represents him “He’s young, he’s cheeky, has huge likeability and writes great material from a unique perspective and voice. It’s very unusual to find a new comedian who has found his voice so quickly.”

Working up and down the country, doing as many gigs as he can, Larry is as busy as any comedian. “It’s great to be doing something you enjoy so much, and winning Saturday is a great boost to my ego – I’ll be a nightmare to live with for the next 4 weeks. Luckily, no one lives with me”

You can see Larry at circuit gigs all over the country and in 2 shows in Edinburgh including his solo show 'Unmanageable' at The Free Sisters (15:15) and a 2 hander with Christian Elderfield 'Sexual Freaky Friday', The Meadow Bar (23:15).
